Black 2016 Kia Sportage | Gunther Kia

2016 Kia Sportage vs. 2016 Hyundai Tucson

Often cars are compared side by side with numbers and statistics. In this article, you will see the basic version of what these numbers mean when you put them all together. The Kia Sportage and the Hyundai Tucson come from the same parent company. They are well-rated vehicles. While they offer similar packaging, the subtle differences add up to an increase or decrease in your contentment level when exploring the roads in your new wheels. Read on to get a layman's breakdown of the vehicles and decide which choice buys you the best vehicle. MSRP and Commonalities The Kia Sportage's starting MSRP is $22,150, which is $550 less than the Hyundai Tucson. The two sport utility vehicles have divided rear seats that fold down to maximize storage space. They come in all-wheel or two-wheel drive, boast impressive safety ratings, and offer convenient upgrades like navigation systems with top-of–the-line audio and speakers. Sleek, aerodynamic designs make up their exteriors. more Cylinders and Engine Size Gasoline burns in the cylinders to give a car the gusto to keep moving. Because the cylinders house the power, more is better, but fuel efficiency usually suffers as the number of barrels increases. Both vehicles contain four-cylinder engines. The Tucson beats the Kia by three miles per gallon in fuel optimization, but that concerns the displacement, or volume, of the motor. Engine size is much like cylinders — higher numbers mean more power but reduced miles per gallon. The Kia carries a 2.4-liter engine compared to the 2.0-liter engine in the Hyundai. That's one-fifth bigger. The Turbocharged Engine A turbocharger boosts the power of an engine much like a metabolic enhancer jolts your metabolism. Often a four-cylinder feels like a six-cylinder with the turbocharger, but the upside is it uses less gas when driven efficiently. Both higher-end models contain a turbo engine, but the Kia once again carries an engine substantially larger than its counterpart. Torque and Horsepower When you push back into the seat while accelerating from a stop, that is torque. Big rigs require torque to initiate movement. Horsepower defines how much continuous work a car can perform. Generally, larger engines produce more torque while smaller engines provide horsepower. A racing car needs good torque to catapult off the starting line and requires horsepower to sustain its speed over the course of the race. The Kia's turbo engine submerges the competition with 260 horsepower compared to the competition's 175 horsepower. Its 269 pound-feet of torque boost it past the Tucson's 195 pound-feet of torque. While the 2016 Kia Sportage and the 2016 Hyundai Tucson can each stand on their own four wheels, the Hyundai lacks something essential – power. Because the most important part of selecting a car is surveying what's under the hood, a vote for the Hyundai would act contrary to common sense. The Kia moves quicker and stays at its optimal speed longer than its rival. Since the purpose of a car is to maximize commuting time, select the one that does just that.   Photo by Kia

Popular Watersports Around Ft. Lauderdale

The second most visited reef in the world lies off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The transparent blue water allows you not only to see your toes but also all the marine life that resides under the surface. With an average annual temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit, this heavenly beach-filled city promotes a healthy lifestyle with rich outdoor experiences. Below are four ideas to occupy your time and maximize the days you spend on the shores. This water wonderland beckons you to explore. Paddle Boarding Looking for a great workout you can master in less than an hour? Paddle boarding is your sport. On your knees or standing up, you rest on what appears to be a large surfboard. You burn calories while having a load of fun! Not only is paddle boarding a diverse sport, but like many water sports, you can sightsee while exercising. Head down waterways, discover the ocean or the river, or pass by a plethora of celebrity yachts. Intensify your workout by doing paddleboard yoga, Pilates, or Supilates. The options are limitless. more Reef Drift Fishing Drift fishing allows you to benefit from a tour of the water while you potentially obtain your next meal. Set your eyes on the Lady Pamela III whose spacious deck load offers room for up to 24 people. Because the Lady Pamela III is a sport fish boat, prepare for a calm ride at optimum speed. It only takes 15 minutes for this boat to arrive at the gathering place of the big fish. Enjoy catching a wide variety of game in the reefs of the Florida coast. Scuba Diving Water enthusiasts flock to the "Wreck Capitol of Florida" which contains 50 shipwrecks in 23 miles. Journey at your own pace by drift diving. While attached to a flag, explore along the current until ready to stop. See a host of marine life and benefit from more bottom time. Ponder completing a diver certification course. After concluding the online program, fulfill the water-training portion in two days or less. If you prefer hands-on learning, most companies offer group and individual lessons. Sailing Chartering a sailboat is an amazing way to vacation. Crewed means you sail without laying a hand on deck, and bareboat means you skipper and your boat mates carry out the duties of the crew. The first option provides luxury in addition to expertise. Do you need a recommendation on where to dive or dock? Just ask the crew. Their wish is your command. The second option gives you more privacy and freedom but comes with a substantial amount of responsibility. Select either choice to travel the waters off the southern shores of Florida. Whether vacationing or looking for a permanent home, delve into the city nicknamed the Venice of America. Trade in the long hours sunbathing for a bronzed tan gained in action. Spot sea turtles or manatees in their natural Atlantic Ocean habitat. Follow the paths of ship wreckage along the ocean floor. Sail to unknown parts. Try a Downward-Facing Dog on a paddleboard. Make this time unforgettable.

Why Kia is the King of Affordable Cars

Since first being introduced to the U.S. market, Kia has become one of the most popular lines of superior quality, affordable vehicles on the market. In order to reach the point at which it can lay claim to being the "King of Affordable Cars," Kia has invested heavily in ultra-modern manufacturing facilities, a number of the finest designers and engineers in the industry, and the latest technology. All of this has led to a lineup of vehicles that offer outstanding quality, the best warranties in the business, and come loaded with the latest in high-tech features. Exceptional Value Today's Kia models continue to offer many of the same features found in today's most-expensive luxury vehicles, but at a far more affordable price. In many models you will find features like genuine Napa leather upholstery, automatic high-beams, heated and ventilated front seats, and highly functional, fully Bluetooth-enabled infotainment systems, all for thousands of dollars less than what many similar vehicles go for. more Unbeatable Warranties In an effort to let the world know that Kia offers unbeatable quality vehicles, it now offers one of the best new-vehicle warranties in the business. To this effect, all new Kia vehicles now come with a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty program. This warranty covers the following 5-year/60,000-mile limited basic warranty and roadside assistance plan, 5-year/100,000-mile rust perforation, and 10-year/100,000 mile limited powertrain. This warranty has been offered on all Kia vehicles manufactured since 2008. Superb Power Choices Kia was one of the first car manufacturers to jump into building hybrid vehicles. Today's hybrid Kia vehicles are amazingly powerful, with the Optima and Sonata both producing around 200 horsepower. For those who are more interested in power than unbeatable fuel economy, Kia began building turbocharged vehicles long before many of the other vehicle manufacturers did. Amazing Good Looks Today's buyers not only want vehicles that get great fuel economy ratings and offer the latest in high-tech features; they want vehicles that sport unique good looks. Cars like the quirky Kia Soul and the sporty Kia Sportage are among the highest-selling vehicles in the country. The Kia Optima is one of the hottest selling and lowest priced cars in its class, and many dealers are struggling to keep it in stock. Options Galore For decades, it seemed as though most manufacturers had little interest in doing anything more than following the pack. It became hard to tell one brand or model from another. Buyers began to tire of blending in, and Kia was quick to take notice of this. You can choose from a seemingly endless list of available options, from engines to infotainment systems and leather upholstery, plus options that let you create a fully customized Kia. Not content to be one of the "also ran" crowd, Kia has come a long way from its early days. Thanks to continued efforts by the Kia R&D team and a willingness to listen to their customers, Kia is now "King of the Affordable Cars."

Car commercials are created to evoke some form of emotional response. Whether the company is going for funny, pulls at your heartstrings, or produces a sense of outrage, these commercials are made to have you think. Check out some of the best Kia commercials made to date. more Middle C Voiced by Christopher Walken, the Kia commercial Middle C is impressive. It's elegant in its simplicity, which is what the commercial is trying to bring out. The commercial opens with someone at a piano, playing the middle C key. Walken states that midsized sedans are the middle C of automotives. They're basic and boring. The pianist then goes on to play a beautiful piece, while Walken introduces the 2016 Kia Optima, which he states is a masterpiece. You see a quick shot of the car driving down a dark road with the pianist playing in the background. Epic Ride This commercial takes you through a few different movie scenarios, starting with two people handcuffed to a police bike, while the officer is driving off with their Kia Optima. As the officer is driving, what looks to be a supervillain in a helicopter takes the car. Next comes a man on a yacht surrounded by beautiful women. He spies the car being carried by the helicopter, but before he can do anything about it, Poseidon rises from the water and grabs the Optima. The car is then beamed up into a space ship and taken to another planet, where the aliens who have taken it drive the vehicle around for a few seconds. The car is sucked into a portal to an ancient culture, who celebrate it. The visuals and effects of the commercial are superb, and it's a fun watch even without any dialogue. Space Babies Opening with a shot of a dad driving, you hear a little boy in the back ask his dad where babies come from. The dad stalls for a second, and then he says there is a planet called "Babylandia" that is full of babies. The commercials take you to this fictional land, which is green and beautiful and shows toddlers and baby animals walking around. He says that when the time is right, there is a space launch, and the visuals show a baby human and a number of baby animals in space suits getting ready for launch. When they get to Earth, the babies are released all over the world with blue and pink parachutes. The commercial gets a little uncomfortable for the parents when the child says that his friend told him that "babies are made when mommies and daddies ..." This hilarious and memorable commercial was made for the 2014 Kia Sorento and originally aired for the 2013 Superbowl. Kia doesn't pull punches with the visuals and styling in their cars or their commercials. From funny to impressive, the commercials for Kia vehicles leave an impression long after they have come and gone. Some of the best car commercials out there feature your favorite Kia vehicles.   This image is snippet from the Kia Motors Super Bowl ad  and can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmCFhxhifgM

4 Tips to Kill that Odor in Your Car

Sometimes cars stink. Unfortunately, that is just a fact of car ownership. Persistent smells are annoying, but they can be taken care of. Some habits, such as smoking in the car, lead to bad smells over time. Other times, a smell may seemingly come out of nowhere. No matter the cause of the smell, there are ways to get rid of those stinky scents. more Industrial-Strength Odor Remover When you are trying to get rid of a smell, do not just use an air freshener. Many times these products simply add to the smell that is already there. Instead, opt for an odor remover. Odor removers actually trap the molecules that make the car smell bad, and they get rid of them. You can get industrial-strength odor removers from auto supply stores, department stores, or online. This is a great way of neutralizing the smell in your car instead of just masking it. In some cases, you may have to use the odor remover several times to remove the stink fully. Vacuum and Shampoo Sometimes bad smells are due to food particles or other spills on the carpets in your car. If this is the case, make sure you vacuum and shampoo all the vehicle's carpet areas. Getting a good clean helps eliminate anything leaving behind a smell. While you can vacuum and shampoo the car yourself, it may be best to have a professional auto detailing shop complete it. This ensures you are using heavy-duty products that will not hurt your vehicle's interior. Household Products There are several household products you can use to help eliminate odors as well. One suggestion is to soak a few towels in vinegar, set them in bowls, and then put those bowls around the car. Vinegar is a well-known odor remover and it absorbs bad smells. Another option is to leave an open container of baking soda in the car when you are not driving. Make sure either to close the container or remove it when you go for a drive, or else you will have another mess to worry about later. The best thing about using household products is that they are easy to find, simple to use, and do not cost much. Clean the Vents If you think the smells in your car are coming from something other than food, drinks, smoking, and other more common issues, consider cleaning your vents. A car's air intake valve can become gross, especially if you drive in high-smog areas. Using a deodorizer, spray the intake valves while you have the car running. It may be necessary to repeat this a few times. In addition, if your car has a cabin air filter, consider replacing this, since it gets dirty over time. Spills and accidents happen, and sometimes that leads to bad smells in your car. Make sure you clean up your car regularly to help avoid smells in the first place. If you have smells you can't get out yourself, you may need to get a professional involved.

Looking For a New Car? Try a Kia!

In the southern part of Florida, car buyers tend to look for several things: fuel efficiency, durability, and affordability. If you are in the market for a new vehicle, check out some of these top-selling options and how Kia vehicles can match up. Ford Escape vs. Kia Sportage Both the Ford Escape and Kia Sportage fit into the compact SUV class, with features and options available to appeal to all drivers. The Ford Escape gets slightly better fuel economy, coming at an estimated 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The Sportage is close behind, with an estimated efficiency of 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Both feature two-wheel drive, but critics complain that the Escape feels cramped, especially for the driver and front passenger due to the placement of the dashboard. The major advantage of a Kia Sportage is the price tag: its base price is more than $1,000 lower than that of the Escape. more Chevrolet Malibu vs. Kia Optima Buyers looking for a mid-size sedan may be considering a Chevrolet Malibu, another leader in Southern Florida. But the Kia Optima has quite a bit to offer and has a cheaper base price by several hundred dollars. Other benefits of the Optima include several extra inches of leg room in the front, more than a half-inch of additional head space (ideal for taller drivers and passengers), and extra cubic feet of passenger volume. Its trunk volume is also slightly larger, and it holds 5.5 additional gallons of fuel in its tank. Nissan Murano vs. Kia Sorento Another option for a smaller SUV crossover is the Nissan Murano, which offers additional cargo space and more room for passengers.
