  1. Optima Hybrid

Power and Performance

When you blend classic style with elegance, the result is the 2020 Optima Hybrid fitted with a 2.0-liter GDI (gasoline direct injection) engine supported by a 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces 271-pound feet of torque. The Optima’s hybrid system uses a gasoline injection engine and electric motor power to enhance drive time, whether working in unison or separately while remaining green. The Optima has an estimated EPA of 40 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 45 mpg on the highway for a combined fuel economy of 42 mpg.

The high-density lithium polymer battery in the current model has significantly improved over the prior generation, delivering an increase of 19 percent to power and 13 percent more energy. Regenerative braking provides on-going support by charging the battery each time the hybrid decelerates.

Driver-Assisted Technology

Convenience features are part of the hybrid’s likeability. These include an 8-inch rear-view monitor fitted with dynamic parking guidance, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, blind spot collision warning, smart cruise control with stop and go, and driver attention warning.

  1. Optima Plug-in

Power and Performance

Like the hybrid, the Optima Plug-in is designed with efficiency in mind. The stylish sedan operates on a full parallel hybrid system, providing an impressive 202 combined drivetrain horsepower at 6,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 101 miles per gallon of gasoline-equivalent (MPGe). The plug-in is equipped with an interior-permanent magnet synchronous motor and a gasoline direct injection engine.

Interior

The Optima Plug-in offers comfort, convenience, and entertainment features, such as heated front seats, a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 4-way power lumbar support, an UVO link with an 8-inch touch screen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an Harman Kardon QuantumLogic surround sound audio system.

  1. Niro Plug-in

Power and Performance

For SUV enthusiasts, the Niro Plug-in is designed with you in mind. The stylish car is powered by a 1.6-liter engine providing 104 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and an AC synchronous permanent magnet motor. Using a 240-volt power outlet, the plug-in’s high capacity battery recharges in about two and a half hours. Using a 120-volt household outlet, the system takes about nine hours to recharge.

Safety Features

Safety features enhance driving capability, and the Optima Hybrid, Optima Plug-in, and Niro Plug-in each provide plenty of passenger and vehicle coverage. The hybrid has dual front advanced air bags, dual front seat-mounted side air bags, a driver’s knee air bag, front seatbelt pretensioners, and lower anchors and tethers for children (LATCH). The vehicle is equipped with 4-wheel disc brakes with an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, hill start assist control, and a brake assist system.

Take your driving adventures to a higher level of efficiency and fuel and energy economy when you’re behind the wheel of a 2020 hybrid from Kia.
