Just one visit and a great meal served on the charming outdoor patio will make any visitor want to return again and again. Kelly’s is also involved in giving back to the community, having raised more than $60,000 over the past years for breast cancer research.
Rustic Inn
Located on the banks of the Dania Cut-Off Canal, the Rustic Inn has delighted locals and travelers alike for more than 60 years. Having started as an Italian restaurant, Rustic Inn changed its theme mostly by chance. On a hot day back in 1959, the then-owner caught about half a dozen crabs and wanted to cook them for himself, but a customer approached him, asking if they were on the menu. The change prompted an instant success, and just half a year later, the owner was sending his son all over the Florida coast to gather all the crabs they needed.
The main special, garlic crabs, is as legendary as the place itself and also originated from a customer suggestion. Today, the restaurant also features a wide variety of seafood, with dishes made from oysters, clams, lobsters, shrimp, frog legs, fish, and even alligator meat. The delicious food and vibrant atmosphere have made the Rustic Inn known worldwide, with tourists from all over the globe pouring in each day for a taste of the famous garlic crabs or any of the dozens of other dishes. It’s also a good place to host anything from a business meeting to a birthday party.
