2020 Kia Telluride Concept Car | Gunther KiaSlated to go on sale in early 2019, the 2020 Kia Telluride will be the biggest SUV yet from the South Korean automaker. While we don’t know all the details of the new vehicle, it’s based on the Telluride concept car from 2016, which gives us an idea of some of the exterior style and interior features we can expect when the vehicle hits the market.

An Impressively Stylish SUV

The concept car had an overall length of 196.9 inches and an overall width of 79.1 inches. While Kia hasn’t released dimensions for the 2020 Telluride, it has said the vehicle will be several inches longer and wider than the Kia Sorento. It will also have some impressive exterior style. You’ll make a statement coming and going thanks to the recessed quad-LED headlights, horizontal LED turn signal lights, and thin, vertical taillights. It also features a boxy and almost truck-like silhouette that’s sure to turn heads when it’s on the road.

Space for Everyone

Inside the Kia Telluride, you’ll find plenty of space for everyone. While the manufacturer says the three-row SUV can seat up to eight people, the concept showcased a spacious seven-passenger version that had four leather captain’s chairs and a third-row bench. If the manufacturer keeps both versions, it looks like you’ll have a choice of seating options when the SUV goes on sale.

Incredible Luxury Conveniences

Along with an open cabin with great seating space, the 2020 Kia Telluride will have some amazing luxury conveniences inside. The concept car had foldaway footrests on the middle row seats that beckoned you to kick back and relax. The large sunroof would give everyone in the vehicle a great view of the outside. While we don’t know exactly which features will carry over from the concept car, Kia has confirmed the Telluride will have natural wood trims and leather details on the door panels, dashboard, and grab handles for a softer touch inside.

Amazing Technology

When the Kia Telluride hits the market, it will offer some incredible technological advancements. In the concept car, the front four seats had Smart Sensors that recorded vital health information. Then, screens on the interior door panels displayed these findings to help you keep track of your heart rate, stress levels, and more. While these wellness features likely won’t be on the production vehicle, odds are good you can expect the wireless cellphone charging pad and seven-speaker Harman Kardon audio system that was showcased in the concept car.

Excellent Power and Performance

While Kia hasn’t released much information about the engine that will be in the Telluride, it has said the vehicle will have a powerful V-6 engine. Only time will tell whether it’s the same 3.3-liter engine found in the Sorento or the twin-turbocharged version currently available in the Stinger. Additionally, although not confirmed, it seems likely the SUV will have an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive capabilities.

If you’re thinking about upgrading to a new SUV, you now have plenty of reasons to wait until the 2020 Kia Telluride comes to the market.
